Alloa Athletic would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to Gavin’s family and friends at this difficult time.

Gavin started his playing career with Knightswood Juveniles in Glasgow and in 2007/08 played for Scotland U16’s gaining four caps against Jersey twice, England and Norway.

Craig Levein signed Gavin for Dundee United in Season 2008/09 and later that Season he made two appearances for Scotland U17’s against Sweden and Iceland.

Paul Hartley brought Gavin to Alloa Athletic on the 19th December, 2012 where he made two starts in League One, on the 2nd January, 2013 in 1-0 home win v. Stenhousemuir and on 23rd February, 2013 v. Arbroath at Recreation Park in a 1-0 defeat. Gavin also made two other appearances as substitute for “The Wasps” 5th January, 2013 v. Brechin City at Glebe Park, coming on for Jason Marr and 16th February, 2013 v. Forfar Athletic at Station Park coming on for Darren Young.

Gavin joined Irvine Meadow in 2013/14 and latterly had spells with Petershill, Kilbirnie Ladeside and most recently Maryhill Juniors.

Gavin, sadly passed away after a car accident on the 8th October 2022.

Our last 16 tie against Queen of the South has been scheduled for Friday 9th December.

Kick-off will be 19:45 at the Indodrill Stadium.

Tickets will be available in the week running up to the game.

The postponed fixture against Falkirk has been rearranged for Tuesday 18th October KO 7:45pm
