Alloa Athletic Football Club is delighted to announce an ongoing partnership with Tulliallan Police College, with Indodrill Stadium set to host a number of police training exercises throughout the year.

Following the success of a pilot training event earlier this year, the club will now welcome multiple probationer cohorts to Indodrill Stadium as part of their training with Police Scotland.

The stadium provides a realistic environment for new recruits to take part in sporting event-focused scenarios, covering areas including managing large groups of spectators, the appropriate use of legislation and dealing with identified offences.

More than 200 police officers and staff were involved in the initial exercise, which saw instructors from Probationer Training bring new recruits to Alloa for a full day of scenarios based around a sporting event.

The partnership will now see similar exercises take place at the stadium throughout the year, giving future cohorts the opportunity to train in a live stadium environment.

In addition, charity events will also take place through the calendar year to support community work through the Wasp Community Club and The Hive.

Alloa Athletic General Manager Kieren Mooney said:

“This is a really worthwhile partnership for the club and something we’re delighted to be developing further.

“The Indodrill Stadium is a fantastic asset, and we want to make sure we’re using it for the benefit of the community as well as the football club. This partnership allows us to do that, while also providing a commercial benefit to the club.

“It’s also important to us that our matchdays feel as safe and welcoming as possible. Supporting the training of officers who will go on to work at sporting events across the country, including Alloa, is a positive thing for us, and having that relationship with Tulliallan is something we value.”

Sergeant Allan Burns from Tulliallan also added:

“We would like to thank Alloa Athletic for the use of the facilities which allows us deliver improved training to probationary officers. We look forward to continuing this partnership and no doubt this will develop further through time”

The partnership is another example of Alloa Athletic’s commitment to making the most of Indodrill Stadium away from matchdays, while building relationships with organisations and groups across the local community.
