Alloa Athletic FC is saddened to learn of the passing of former manager Billy Little, who died on Friday 6th November 2026, aged 86, at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
Born in Dumfries in 1940, Billy enjoyed a distinguished playing career, most notably spending 12 years with Aberdeen, making over 300 appearances and scoring 98 goals. He also represented Scotland at youth level and the Scottish League.
Following his playing career, Billy moved into management, taking charge of several Scottish clubs, including Falkirk, Queen of the South and East Stirlingshire.
Billy joined Alloa Athletic in 1987 as assistant to Gregor Abel, and the pair enjoyed a successful spell together, guiding the Wasps to the Scottish Cup quarter-finals and promotion to the First Division in 1989. Billy later took over as manager in February 1990.
The thoughts of everyone at Alloa Athletic are with Billy’s family and friends at this sad time.
Rest in peace, Billy.
