Alloa Athletic Hosts First Ever Golf Day

Alloa Athletic held its first ever Golf Day at Alloa Golf Club, with a fantastic day enjoyed by players, former players, staff, supporters and guests.

Manager Andy Graham got the day underway by teeing off first in the shotgun start, alongside former assistant manager Paddy Connolly, former striker Conor Sammon and Alloa skipper Scott Taggart, who showed exactly why he is an exceptional golfer with a three handicap.

With the sun shining, everyone enjoyed a great day around the course, with plenty of spot prizes up for grabs.

We came agonisingly close to the £10,000 hole-in-one jackpot, with a number of other fantastic prizes won throughout the day, including hospitality tickets, free rounds of golf and Scotland tickets.

There were also some competitive performances on the course, with skipper Scott Taggart taking home the prize for longest drive, while ‘Sammo’ Conor Sammon won nearest the pin.

The main prize of the day went to Thomas Oswald, Paul Burns, Chris Anderson and Paul Markwick in first place, who won four Scottish Cup Final tickets with lounge access.

The day was rounded off with a lovely two-course dinner, followed by guest speaker Mike Mulraney, Honorary President of Alloa Athletic and President of the Scottish FA.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported our first ever Golf Day, to Alloa Golf Club for hosting us and to everyone who helped make the day such a success.

We hope to see you all back on the course next year!
