Alloa Athletic agree loan cooperation agreement with Rangers

Alloa Athletic are pleased to confirm that our cooperation agreement with Rangers has been renewed for a second season.

This innovative partnership bypasses rigid domestic loan regulations, allowing elite Scottish talent aged 16–21 to transition into senior football by moving fluidly between both clubs throughout the campaign.

We were pleased to welcome Calum Adamson, Lewis Stewart, and Josh Gentles through the agreement last season, and we look forward to working with the next wave of young talent to aid their development while providing them with crucial first-team experience at Alloa.

Andy Graham, Alloa Athletic Manager:

The co-operation loan system is designed to improve opportunities for young Scottish players and last seasons partnership with Rangers did exactly that. The players improved our squad but we also saw big developments in them from playing senior football regularly. I’m delighted to have the agreement in place for another year and we hope more young Scottish talent can benefit from it.

David McCallum, Interim Head of Rangers Academy:

Our experience with Alloa last year showed the real value these partnerships can have, providing our young players with an excellent environment to experience senior football and allowing us to work closely with a club that shares our commitment to player development.
