Alloa Athletic Women Celebrate Historic Season at Annual Awards Night

Alloa Athletic Women celebrated a landmark season at the club’s annual awards night, held at Sauchie Hall.

The evening reflected on a campaign that saw the Wasps make history by lifting the first trophy in the team’s history with a commanding 4-0 victory over Penicuik Athletic in the Regional League Plate Final in May.

The event also marked the beginning of a new chapter for the club, with recently appointed manager Jill Leiper attending her first awards night alongside chairman Martin Ross.

Midfielder Mia Hutcheson enjoyed a memorable evening completing a double swoop. Hutcheson was named both the Players’ Player of the Year and the Coaches’ Player of the Year, underlining the impact she made throughout an outstanding campaign.

Jenna Woods was recognised for a prolific season in front of goal as she collected the Top Goalscorer award, while Madison Dunn received the (Davis Distrubtions) Sponsors’ Player of the Year accolade following a string of impressive performances.

Lucy Burnett was honoured with the Club Person of the Year award in recognition of her commitment and dedication to the club, both on and off the park.

Devyn Thompson’s stunning strike against Drumchapel United was voted Goal of the Season in a highly contested battle. Thompson also picked up the Alloa Advertiser Player of the Year and Photographer (David Glencross) awards after a series of influential performances throughout the campaign.

The awards brought together players, coaches, volunteers and supporters to celebrate a season that will be remembered as a milestone in the club’s history. The club’s thanks goes to all who made the evening and the season a success.
