AAWFC’s New manager

Alloa Athletic are delighted to announce that Charles Dignan has been appointed as the new Alloa Athletic Women’s Team Manager.

Charles has been involved in coaching for the last ten years with Kennoway United, Thornton Hibs and most recently with East Fife Ladies being part of the management team which gained Promotion to SWPL 2 as Scottish Women’s Champions Play-Off winners. We welcome Charles to the club and look forward to supporting the development of the Women’s squad. Welcome to the Wasps!

We’d also like to record our thanks to Sean Black who has been Interim Manager since Allan Salvona’s departure. Sean will continue as assistant.

Alloa Athletic Women’s Team Manager

Currently playing in the BIFFA SWFL West league, the Alloa Athletic Women’s squad has made significant progress since its inception last year. As a Club, Alloa Athletic is committed to supporting the Women’s 1st Team as the top rung of its pathway for women and girls and is now looking for a Management Team to take things forward to the next level.

First rate training and match facilities are available, alongside various support facilities including video analytics, a gym and meeting/presentation rooms etc. This vacancy offers an ideal opportunity for those with experience in the women’s game to manage a squad that is full of potential. Responsibilities will include managing the team and taking coaching sessions and with a willingness to further integrate the Women’s Team within the wider Club structure and Player Development Pathway.

Training takes place Tuesday and Thursday 8.30 – 9.45. Matches take place on a Sunday.

Minimum Qualifications are an SFA C Licence or be working towards it in the current season.

Allan Salvona Moves On

Alloa Athletic Women’s Football Club manager Allan Salvona will take charge of his last game for the women’s team on Sunday against Drumchapel United.

We’d like to thank Allan for the hard work, time and effort he has put into the formation and running of the Alloa Athletic women’s team during its inaugural season in the SWFL North/East and this year’s Biffa SWFL West competition.

Alloa Athletic will now be inviting applications to continue Allan’s hard work.

Allan Salvona – AAWFC Manager

We’re pleased to welcome Allan Salvona as the first manager of Alloa Athletic Women’s Football Club.

Allan has been coaching for nearly a decade, mainly at SYFA level with Murieston United. He also has worked in scouting and analysis, professionally, for Hibernian and St Mirren. At Murieston, he has been part of the male and female game including as a Football Development Officer for the club on the girls pathway, increasing the participation numbers of the girls greatly. In recognition of this work he received an SFA South East region award for his contribution to girls’ football.

Allan immediately struck us a very driven and ambitious individual and this coupled with his track record in developing both a progressive pathway and the talents of players within that framework, gives us the confidence that he will be a successful appointment. We are delighted to welcome him to the club and look forward to supporting the development of the Women’s squad.

Alloa Athletic Women’s Football Club

Alloa Athletic is proud to announce the launch of our new senior women’s squad, which will compete at SWFL level for the 2022 season.

In addition to bringing senior women’s football to Indodrill Stadium and Clackmannanshire, the establishment of our Alloa Athletic Women’s FC squad will provide a pathway to the senior game for the players of our Wasp Community Club Girls section.

As we progress our recruitment process, we welcome contact from players or coaches with an interest in being considered for a role within the squad.
