Alloa Athletic Women Update

As the curtain falls on a memorable season, we would like to thank everyone who has supported the Women’s Team throughout the campaign.

This season will be remembered as a landmark one for the Club, with the team lifting its first-ever piece of silverware by winning the SWFL Regional League Plate. In front of a record-breaking crowd at the Indodrill Stadium, the women produced a superb performance to defeat Penicuik 4-0 in the final. A Bailey Black hat-trick, alongside a goal from one of the club’s original “Wasps”, Amy Cully, secured a historic afternoon for everyone connected with the club.

The final also marked Allan Milnes’ last game in charge after two years at the helm. Allan leaves having helped build stronger foundations for the women’s section and becoming the first manager to bring silverware to the club.

Reflecting on his time at the club, Allan said:

“The last two years have been a whirlwind. There have been highs, lows, laughter and challenges, but I wouldn’t change any of it. To know the team is in a better place than when I arrived makes me proud, and to leave having brought the club its first silverware is a huge honour.”

He also paid tribute to everyone involved:

“I want to thank all the staff, players past and present, for their hard work, trust and belief. This group has been incredible to work with and I’ll leave with friends for life and great memories.”

Allan Milne

Everyone at the Club would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Allan for his dedication, commitment and hard work over the past two years, and we wish him every success in the future.

The Club can also confirm that goalkeeper Katie Andrews will be leaving after two seasons. Katie has been a valued member of the squad and leaves with our thanks and very best wishes for the next chapter of her football journey.

We would also like to thank our fantastic partners for their support throughout the season:

  • Davis Distributions
  • Affinity Sterling Mills
  • Team Alexis Rose, our charity partner

We look forward to continuing these relationships and welcoming new partners as we continue to grow the women’s game at the club.

Preparations for the new season are already underway, with pre-season returning in the coming weeks. Any players interested in joining the Women’s Team can contact kieren@alloaathletic.co.uk or get in touch via our Instagram or X channels.

Further information regarding the Club’s new manager and coaching structure will be announced shortly.

Winning our first trophy is a huge milestone, but this is only the beginning of the Women’s Team journey. The foundations are in place, ambitions remain high, and together we will continue striving for even more success next season.

If you are an inspiring female footballer of any age, the Wasp Community Club Summer of Football is here for you! Young players can attend during the week of the holidays, or if you are an adult wanting to try the game – come along to the Stadium on a Sunday evening.

Thank you for your support throughout 2025/26. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
