He signed for Airdrie United from Irish side Ards in August 2005 and he had been first choice keeper for last 4 seasons with “The Diamonds”
Making over 150 appearances in that spell. A superb shot stopper with excellent reflexes making up for any lack of height, joined “The Wasps” in the close season.

Thomas had been on loan to the club from February, 2010 as cover for the injured Steven Hall and again rejoins “The Wasps” this season after facial injury to Jamie Ewings. Thomas has joined the club on a two month loan period. Thomas made debut for club in CIS Cup tie against Aberdeen after Stuart Robertson had been red carded.

Scott is no stranger to the Alloa Athletic fans having been briefly on loan to the club in Season 2003/04 when Terry Christie brought Scott on loan from Dunfermline Athletic in September, 2003, however Terry left the club in November, with Scott playing only 13 games for The Wasps before Brechin City signed him at the start on January, 2004. Scott moved to Ayr United in the summer of 2008 adding his experience to the heart of their defence, he is fantastic in the air and equally good with the ball at his feet, Allan Maitland will look to him to bolster the Alloa Athletic defence which in the past has leaked far to many goals. Scott scored first goal of season in Alba Cup against Dundee.

Brown Ferguson returned to the club in season 2007/08 having been released by Partick Thistle, Brown had previously been at the club from July, 2002 until July, 2005 when he moved to Hamilton Accies and has proved to be a great addition to the squad, a hard working player with powerful shot, comfortable with ball at his feet. When Brown plays well, Alloa Athletic play well, will miss start of season due to surgery on knee in close season, hope to be back by end of October, 2010.

A players player who works tirelessly for the team. Last season won Players Player of the year award and also Goal of the year award for effort v. Clyde.

Manager Allan Maitland signed Mark Brown who had been released by Clyde FC last close season. Mark started his career with Rangers before two serious injuries hampered his progress. Brown then resurrected his career with amateur outfit Eddlewood Amateurs, so much so that John Brown signed him on a two year contract. Mark, made 29 appearances, plus 2 from the bench for "The Bully Wee", scoring in the opening league game of the season against Morton in a 1-1 draw. Signed by John Brown as a central defender but can also play midfield which he proved last season with "The Wasps".

Eventful game against Livingston this season when he scored own goal and then rescued side with last minute goal line clearance.

Billy Gibson started his career as a youngster at Ibrox, where he was very highly regarded. He left Rangers for Partick Thistle and had mixed success at Firhill, before leaving for a productive spell in Ireland with St.Pat's Athletic. He then moved to Clyde in January, 2007 when he became available and the former Scotland youth had been a key part of John Brown’s side, playing in a variety of positions at the back and in midfield. Joined Alloa Athletic in close season making debut in pre season friendlies at Oban tournament, brings great experience to side.

Andy spent four seasons at Motherwell after leaving school and made his debut at 18, but later moved to Bellshill Juniors and scored regularly under John McCormack. Andy is delighted to be back in senior football with Alloa Athletic, top goalscorer at the club two season’s ago with nine goals and eight goals last season.

Darren is one of the best part time footballers in Scotland who is greatly admired by managers and coaches at many clubs. Started his career at Berwick Rangers in 1998 before moving to Brechin City and most recently Raith Rovers, left sided midfield player who has an eye for goal. His father Ian also played for “The Wasps” between 1979-1983 scoring the promotion, winning goal against Forfar Athletic at Station Park on 15th May, 1982. Darren scored 1st goal for Alloa Athletic with superb strike in 3-3 draw against Livingston.

Jason’s recent goal in friendly against Arthurlie already up there for goal of the season confirming his potential as goalscorer.
