    Homecoming Scottish Cup

    Saturday, November 29, 2008 5:27:11 AM

Manager Allan Maitland has promised changes after last weeks disappointing defeat by Queen’s Park. Raith Rovers go into the game on an unbeaten seven game run, which included a 4-1 defeat against “The Wasps” on the 1st November at Starks Park, we know we will need to improve on that performance and look to be positive and cause Raith Rovers problems. One player who will be missing for Raith Rovers today is Kevin Smith who is on loan to them from Dundee United after a request not to cup-tie the player, Kevin had already scored three goals against Alloa Athletic in our two games this season. Every club would love a good cup run and also to be in the 4th round draw on Monday at Hampden Park, when there are opportunities to earn some money from the competition. Allan Maitland was hoping to have Chris Townsley back in the squad after serving his period of suspension but it is looking unlikely Chris will be fit to be included today, however Scot Buist could be available after training in midweek and he has had no adverse reaction, Andy Ferguson and Graeme Brown will also be available, Raymond Jellema will be available for the cup game as his one game suspension for his red card against Queen’s Park last Saturday will be served in the next league match against East Fife next Saturday. On a positive note on our last visit to Stark’s Park in the Scottish Cup in Season 2004/2005 we won 2-0 with goals from John Ovenstone and Brown Ferguson.
