Wasps net new, local shirt-front sponsors

Local building contractor Marshall Construction has signed a five-figure deal with Wasp Leisure to become the new jersey-front sponsor of Alloa Athletic Football Club.

The family-run firm, which is also a regular sponsor of the Alva Games, sealed the two-year deal at Recreation Park yesterday with Wasps manager Paul Hartley and club chairman Mike Mulraney of The Mulraney Group.

Marshall, whose sport and leisure project portfolio includes Craigswood Sports Centre in West Lothian, The John Cumming Stadium in Carluke and Alloa’s Speirs Centre, which was formerly the town’s public baths, said: “We’re delighted to get involved with the Wasps and, of course, are avid supporters of our local team.

“With the club going from strength to strength, it seemed like a natural move to make.”

Mulraney added: “We’re really pleased to announce that Marshall Construction is the proud new sponsor of Alloa Athletic’s famous black and gold hoop shirt and look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Robert and his team.”

Previous shirt sponsors have included Machine Tool Engineers (EK) Ltd, the Alloa Advertiser, Campbell Homes, Sinclair Haulage and Sterling.
