Manager looking for victory in derby

When a team is struggling for confidence sometimes all that it needs to restore that confidence is one good result and against Stirling Albion this weekend we will be hoping to get that result and give the fans and players a boost. It is hard to play the type of football that we want to play when the side is low on confidence, but victory in our last two home games has given the team an indication of what they can achieve. Going into the game against local rivals Stirling Albion we will be going into the game with a few players unavailable for a variety of reasons, John Grant is now suspended and will miss the next two games, Scot Buist is still missing due to fibia injury picked up against Queens Park, Chris Townsley is still suffering from an ankle injury picked up last Saturday at Starks Park, while Saturdays game against his old club will probably still be too soon for Dougie Wilson, Francis Kelly has this week been released from the club and is currently training with Arthurlie Juniors and Martin O’Neill picked up an injury at training on Thursday night and will also be unavailable. It’s obviously unfortunate that these players will be unavailable, but that is something you need to cope with in the game, however it does give me a chance to bring into the squad for Saturday – Greig Spence, Steven Barker and Allan MacKenzie who will relish the opportunity to being involved. The players are fully aware of just how big the match against Stirling Albion is and the response from the players in training after the disappointment of last week’s result has been first class. On our day we believe that we are match for any team in this division and if we can get back playing the type of football we want we are confident we can keep our good home form record intact.
