    Boyle deal collapses

    Thursday, January 10, 2013 2:04:06 PM

The deal to bring Martin Boyle to Recreation Park has fallen foul, due to new Scottish Football rules brought in at the start of this season - where a player can only play for a maximum of two Scottish Clubs within the same season. Unfortunately Martin played for Montrose FC and scored in this season's Ramsdens Cup against Inverurie Locos and in the Scottish Communities Cup for Montrose FC and scored against Cowdenbeath. This was prior to his move to Dens Park in August, 2012 where he has since made his league debut for Dundee. Both Martin Boyle and Paul Hartley are disappointed with the news, which means Martin can now not go on loan to Alloa Athletic or any other Scottish club this season.
