    Cox missing against Arbroath

    24 August 2012 18:39:07

Striker David Cox (virus) is Alloa's only absentee for the clash with Arbroath at Recreation Park. The two teams were the last two champions of the Third Division and now the sides sit joint top of the Second Division.

Wasps manager Paul Hartley said: "Paul Sheerin has done a fantastic job at Gayfield in first of all winning the title and then challenging for promotion to Division One last season. "They like to play attractive football and so do we so it should be a good game. We go into it with confidence after a great display and result against Albion Rovers last weekend." Hartley added: "It was important to get our first win of the season last weekend as it takes a bit of pressure off and now we want our first home win."

Arbroath will have goalkeeper Tony Bullock, 40, making his first start for the club.
Regular number one Darren Hill was ruled out for two months after breaking his arm in last week's win over Ayr. Former Hearts youngster Colin Hamilton has joined the club on a permanent basis this week and looks set to play at left-back, while Stuart Malcolm is available for the first time this season after a groin injury. Player-manager Sheerin said: "I began my career at Alloa 20 years ago so it is nice to be going back there still playing and as a manager as well. "They have a good team that will do well this season but hopefully not too well against us."
