    Chance missed to go top

    Sunday, December 18, 2011 5:39:17 PM

The Wasps will be disappointed after missing the chance to go top of the Division, having taken the lead just prior to half-time when Ryan McCord put the visitors in front, Paul Hartley's team started the second period well on top and increased their lead when Stevie May scored his first goal for the club. At this stage in the game Alloa were looking more likely to increase their lead and Stevie May and Armand One had great chances to do this. However Berwick never gave in and substitute Michael Deland snatched a lifeline for them, which they grabbed with both hands. The home side now had the accendancy and drew level after a bad defensive lapse, which allowed Damon Gray to score his sixth goal of the season. The result allowed Stranraer to go top on goal difference, The Wasps will now look to bounce back in their Boxing Day encounter against Elgin City, a team who have shown how dangerous they can be, so therefore Paul Hartley's men will need to be at their best to keep the unbeaten home run going in the league and claim three more vital league points before the end of 2011.
