Jim Goodwin Ladbrokes Champioship Manager of Month

The Ladbrokes monthly awards are voted for by members of the Scottish Media, with a manager and a player selected for each division, Alloa Athletic gained eight Championship League points in December after drawing 2-2 with Falkirk, drawing 2-2 with Partick Thistle and defeating both Queen of the South 2 - 0 and Dundee United 2-1 to move into eighth postion in the league.
Staurt Martin from Ladbrokes was on hand at The Indodrill Stadium to hand out the awards:-
Jim Goodwin, Stuart Martin (Ladbrokes) & Dario Zanatta

Alloa manager Jim Goodwin said "It is always a nice feeling to be given an award like this considering the managers you are up against in this Division, but I believe it is a team award rather than an individual award to be honest with you, delighted for Dario as well getting his award, I think he has been fantastic and has really came into a rich vein of form in the last seven or eight games and he thoroughly deserves the award he has been picking up a lot of plaudits over the last month and a lot of people are starting to take notice of his form.

I’m over the moon, it’s nice to get recognised for the hard work that you are doing and I reiterate you can do nothing without the players and my backroom staff, so I’m delighted to accept the award but I really do accept it on behalf of my backroom staff and the players as well.

It is massive for us to be looking to keep Dario for the second part of the season, it’s not completely over the line yet but we are almost there 99.9% of the way, but with things like this happening and the form that he has been in has attracted a lot of interest from other teams who would love to have him on loan, but in fairness to Craig Levein and Hearts they have been very good to us and this is the best form Dario has been in during his career and he has been on loan to many clubs since he joined Hearts and this is definitely the best that he has been playing, regularly, consistently and at a really good level as well, so it has benefited everybody and that is the whole idea of taking kids on loan for to benefit the parent club, benefit the loan club, and most importantly to benefit the player and the development we have seen in Dario over the last four months has been incredible"
