    Wasps bounce back

    Sunday, January 07, 2018 2:03:04 PM

Jim Goodwin's side bounced back from a disappointing 2-2 draw earlier in the week against Queen's Park to defeat Albion Rovers 3-1 in a game both teams tried to get forward and looked to score one more goal than their opposition. Having started the game on top, "The Wasps" were caught on the counter attack by Albion Rovers and Joao Victoria put the visitors in front. However Ross Stewart equalised for the home side five minutes later, his third goal in his first three matches for "The Wasps" since signing on loan from St. Mirren.

Two minutes from half-time PJ Crossan scored a fine solo goal to increase the margin to 2-1, a great time to go in front. In the second half Albion Rovers always looked dangerous on the break but in chances "The Wasps" should have increased their lead long before the final minutes.

Ross Stewart had a couple of good chances and Scott Taggart was only inches away from a goal when his shot flashes across the face of the goal.

The third goal when it came was unfortunate for Daniel Potts the young Albion Rovers keeper who was caught out by Iain Flennigan's free kick and only helped it into the net to make the points safe for "The Wasps".
