    The 16 Days of Action

Alloa Athletic Football Club is once again proud to work with local partners during the 16 Days of Action Campaign.  This campaign aims to raise awareness of issues such as domestic abuse, rape, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, stalking, human trafficking & forced marriage.  We know that men can be subjected to many of these issues, as can people in same sex relationships, however in the vast majority of cases these acts are carried out by men against women.

There were 1797 Crimes of domestic abuse recorded in Forth Valley Division in 2016, with 377 coming from the Clackmannanshire area alone. It is important to note that these figures should be regarded as the ‘tip of the iceberg’ as many women – and men - living with domestic abuse are too scared to tell anyone about what is happening to them.

If you would like to speak to someone about domestic abuse, call the Scottish Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0800 027 1234.  Calls are free and confidential.

If you are concerned that your own behaviour is abusive – and you want help to stop – call the Respect helpline on 0808 802 4040, http://respectphoneline.org.uk/  or contact

Breathing Space - 0800 83 85 87 – to speak to someone about your behaviour.

Why not visit the White Ribbon Scotland website and pledge never to commit, condone or stay silent about violence against women?      www.whiteribbonscotland.org.uk
