    Chances missed

    Sunday, January 15, 2017 1:09:47 PM
This will be a game looked back on and we could ask, how did "The Wasps" not win the game or at least take something from it? Peterhead can be considered lucky to come away with all three points after "The Wasps" dominated the first half and played some great football, but had nothing to show for their dominence and four minutes into the second half they paid the price after a mistake in defence, substitute Leighton McIntosh scoring the winning goal.

The Alloa Athletic players once again had to try and come back from losing the opening goal and they showed the same spirit as in recent games but wasted too many chances and the Peterhead keeper Graeme Smith produced some outstanding saves.

Only for the second time this season in the league "The Wasps" failed to score, the last time against Albion Rovers on 29th October, 2016 in 0-0 draw. It was a chance to close the gap on Livingston which on the day did not materialise, "The Wasps" had the lion's share of chances and possession but unfortunately drew a blank in front of goal.
