Irn Bru Cup v. East Fife

    Saturday, September 03, 2016 5:35:41 AM

Good afternoon and welcome to the Indodrill Stadium for today's Irn Bru cup fixture against East Fife.

As ever I would like to extend that welcome to Gary Naysmith, Dougie Anderson and their staff and players, along with officials and supporters of this afternoon's opponents. Gary has undoubtedly carried out a fantastic job during his tenure as manager culminating in last season's title success and continuing with a positive start to this campaign. Having only played his team two weeks we are acutely aware of the difficult challenge they will provide, and while I am sure both of us would have preferred opposition from another division, there is no doubt both today's teams will be desperate to progress to the next stage of the competition.

From our perspective the season has remained incredibly positive, and while we have continued to secure victories, the challenges in recent weeks have been difficult ones. From the afore mentioned fixture against East Fife to last week's trip to Albion Rovers, we have to endure periods of opposition pressure and chances but the complete belief and trust that the squad has created within themselves individually and in the squad collectively has meant that we have found ways to win.

The start to the season has created positive attention around the club which I feel is great reward for those who carry out the unseen work and who I know are taking enormous satisfaction from the campaign so far. Beyond that the players are the ones who deserve much of the credit as they are the ones who cross the white line and produce the effort and performance levels. I hope you enjoy today's match.

The support and backing has been fantastic and we will need it again today.

    Best Wishes Jack
