    Jordan Kirkpatrick signs

Last week was a quieter week for us in the fact I had to play the waiting game, but I was confident that we would start to bring in more players although there are some I am still waiting for answers from but that is the nature of the way things are in the close season.

However being able to sign Jordan Kirkpatrick tonight I am delighted, he is a player I have worked with previously, he is still only 24, he is young and has terrific ability and potential and could undoubtedly play at a higher level still in his career and he knows the best way to achieve this is to come and have a really good season here with Alloa Athletic. He was desperate to come and work with me again and had heard so many good things about the club, so I believe he will be a really good fit and supporters will be excited about seeing him play for us, because he is a real good quality player. Jordan can play a number of different attacking roles and play in different areas, and he has goals in his locker, which is what is exciting about him having the ability to score and create goals.

Middle to front I am really pleased with how things are progressing , however we still need to bring in players in the defensive roles but we are getting closer with some and we will address it if we don’t.

Also delighted to sign young Ryan Hoggan as well he is still only 17, but I was really impressed with him last season, albeit he never go as much chance due to the division we were playing in, but in training and when I watched him play I was impressed but I am still to settle on his best position, he has played a lot of time at centre half, sometimes as full back but I might see him more of a midfielder, but his ability to play in different roles is an asset and over the next season I will have more time to work with him to learn his best position because he has all the attributes and is a really good passer of the ball and can be aggressive and has a terrific attitude and looks after himself and has the hunger to do well, if he progresses to play 15 games next season that in itself will be progress again, so I’m really pleased he will be staying with ourselves, he is definitely one of the ones the club have produced who have an opportunity to have a career in the game.
