    Remembering Alloa’s record victory...10 years ago.

    28th November 2005 Scottish Cup Round 1
    Alloa thrashed non-league Selkirk to set up a meeting with Montrose in the second round of the Scottish Cup. However prior to the game Selkirk had high hopes The team had only missed out on promotion to the East of Scotland Premier League by goal difference the previous season. So far that term Selkirk had remained unbeaten in the league and hopes of winning the title are high. The future is bright for “The Souters”.- However it was not to be in game which side is Alloa Athletic’s biggest victory in a competitive match.
    Ross Hamilton opened the scoring in the seventh minute, and, after Andy Brown doubled their advantage, Hamilton notched his second after 24 minutes
    Substitute Robert Sloan made it 4-0 shortly after the restart and Iain Nicholson then got on the scoresheet.
    Jose Quitongo fired in number six and Iain Nicholson scored twice in three minutes late on to complete his hat-trick, before Robert Sloan added his second.
