    Friendlies Update

    Thursday, July 09, 2015 2:24:43 AM

Ex Alloa Athletic captain, Darren Young brought his newly promoted Division Two champions side from last season Albion Rovers to the Indodrill Stadium, Alloa last night. Both teams took full advantage of giving their squads a good work out, Alloa manager Danny Lennon giving match time to 21 players on the evening, while Darren Young used 17 different players. At this stage in the season it is about getting to match fitness and although the match ended 1-1, the managers would have been more pleased to see the players getting to know their new teammates as the teams start to gel for the start of another competitive season edging ever closer. Manager Danny Lennon is still working to strengthen his squad and the club hope to confirm nearer the end of the week these deals, once they have received registration clearance. Next up on Saturday, Highland League side Keith will be visitors to the Indodrill Stadium, Kick-off 3pm Admission Adults £ 6, concessions £ 3. Also on Saturday Graeme Liveston, Head of Youth Development at the club, will take a youthful Alloa Athletic side to compete in the annual Oban Challenge Cup, along with some first team squad players who are still playing catch up on pre season training.
