Manager Danny Lennon's message in today's issue of "The Wasp" v. Cowdenbeath

Football is a game of fine margins. One team misses a chance to score and the other team moves up the park and scores. We see it time and time again in the beautiful game. The margins between success and failure are tiny. Today, three teams are competing to achieve the prize of securing their status in the Championship for next season. We start the day with only one point separating ourselves, Livingston and Cowdenbeath. The margins could not be any tighter, with one game deciding who stays in the league, who drops down a league and who goes on to battle in the play offs. The journey, since I arrived here three weeks ago, has been full of twists and turns. We are now looking to one final twist in the plot this season, where the team sitting bottom of the league today finishes 8th. That is our aim, our focus and our goal for today.

I would like to commend all the players, coaching staff and support staff for all their efforts in the last few weeks. Since I have joined the club, everyone’s effort and application has been first class. There are great players here, who love their football and are a pleasure to work with. All I ask of them today is that they play in a manner that is true to themselves and as a team that plays for each other.

I would also like to thank you the fans for your support over the season. I firmly believe that the fans are the lifeblood of a club. You invest so much of your time, finances and emotions in to supporting this great club. It is an honour and a privilege to serve you as the manager of Alloa Athletic. Please enjoy the game today, be as positive as you can in your support and let’s do all that we can to win this game together.

Today we welcome Jimmy Nicholl and his Cowdenbeath team to Alloa to compete for 3 very important league points that will determine who plays in this league next season. With your help as our 12th man, let’s make our home advantage count. Get right behind the team, encourage our boys at every opportunity and enjoy the game.

    Danny Lennon
