    Aberdeen train at Alloa

    Tuesday, January 06, 2009 7:33:39 PM

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood brought his Aberdeen side to train at Recreation Park today, prior to Saturday’s Homecoming Scotland Scottish Cup 4th round tie. The Dons manager wanted his players to be accustomed to the synthetic surface at Recreation Park and the full squad along with Jimmy Nicholl, Sandy Clark and Jim Leighton put the players through their paces. Jimmy Calderwood, not a fan of synthetic surfaces and not relishing a game in which he sees Alloa Athletic having nothing to lose, he knows from bitter experience what can happen against teams such as Queen’s Park and Queen of the South and will want to make sure there is no repeat. He wanted to see how his players reacted to the surface before deciding on a squad for Saturday’s big game.
