Scott Hynd scored a hat-trick in the 4-3 defeat at Station Park last night, Tuesday 30th September, in SPFL Development League East fixture against Forfar Athletic.

Scott has now scored 5 goals in last 3 league games, following his double v. Cowdenbeath. Really good performance by the Young Wasps, unlucky not to win on the evening, Paddy Connolly took the team at Station Park.

    Report from Forfar Athletic Website

The ‘Loons’ Development side clinched a 4-3 home win over Alloa Athletic last night in dramatic fashion, this despite a hat-trick by the highly impressive youthful visiting striker Scott Hynd.

The ranks of the home side were again boosted by the presence of Martyn Fotheringham and Gavin Malin, but it was the visitors who took the lead on the ten minute mark. ‘Foxy’ netted the equaliser ten minutes later running on to a superb cross field pass by Michael Kennedy, before drilling the ball past the visiting keeper from the edge of the box.

Five minutes before the half-time whistle Hynd restored the ‘Wasps’ one goal advantage with a stunning header.

Forfar got back on level terms on the hour mark, Cameron Clark netting from close range. There was drama with thirteen minutes remaining when visiting defender Kieran Coleman smashed a stunning 40 yard strike seemingly in to the net off the underside of the bar. However neither the man in the middle nor his assistant were convinced that the ball had crossed the line and to rub ‘salt into the wound,’ the homesters went in front within sixty seconds with an equally fierce drive from all of 25 yards from the left foot of Liam Keiller which flew past Mikey Couser in the Alloa goal.

Forfar then added another goal with a fine finish from sub Callum McConnell in extra-time , Hynd completing his well merited treble albeit to no avail in the 93rd minute of play.

Forfar lined up –Salmon, Yates, Kennedy, Smith, Neave, Malin, Hay, Keiller, McLellan(McConnell), Fotheringham (MacKenzie), Clark(Brown)

Alloa Athletic lined up – M.Couser, Coleman, McLelland, Hoggan, Wilson, Hardie, Smith, Moore, Forsyth, Hynd, Stubberfield – Subs – Brown, Carrick, Hutchison, Collumbine & Stone
