    Manager Previews Cup Tie

    Saturday, November 02, 2013 3:35:28 AM

I would like to extend a warm welcome to Scott Buchan, Kenny Coull, the players, supporters and committee of Inverurie Loco Works FC as they visit Recreation Park, Alloa in a Third Round Tie in the William Hill Scottish Cup for Season 2013/14.

Inverurie Locos have already had a couple of victories in this season’s William Hill Scottish Cup to reach this stage, while this is our opening game in this season’s tournament. When the draw was made at the start of October, it would have been a home tie we would have been looking for, but it is still a difficult game. Inverurie Locos will be dangerous opponents, we have had them watched and we will pay them every respect that they are due. However if we play to our potential there is no doubt we can win the game but have to be professional in our manner and approach. It’s a good tie for us and hopefully if we can get through this as the bigger boys come in for the fourth round and it would be good to have a little cup run this year, I’m sure the players and supporters would enjoy this as well. However, Inverurie Locos will have their own ideas about the game and we have to be wary of their threat as they will be keen to prove they are SPFL material.

We have a home tie, I couldn’t have asked for any more, this is a very important game for us as we aim to reach the fourth round of the competition, we are looking forward to the occasion, we have a team on paper who can win, but the game will not be played on paper, so we know we will give our Highland League visitors the utmost respect and we will need our will-to-win to the fore today, along with our supporters, who can help us win this tie.

You’re support, as always, has been fantastic this season and you can help us deliver the success we want at this football club. Enjoy the game.
