Paul Hartley previews Queen's Park Game

    Saturday, March 24, 2012 5:56:49 PM

Today I would like to extend a warm welcome to Gardner Speirs , the players, coaches, supporters and committee of Queen’s Park as they visit Recreation Park for the second time this season , we are looking forward to the game on the back of good results over East Stirlingshire and Peterhead, last weeks victory over Peterhead was a fantastic result at a ground we had not recorded a victory since August, 2007. We know we can play better than that but the energy levels and will to win shown by the players was fantastic. It has been like that since the first day of pre season, they’re a terrific bunch of guys to work with. In 29 games we’ve had four defeats in the league, at this stage in the season it doesn’t matter how you win, it was all about getting another three vital league points.
Today we face Queen’s Park who are currently in a rich vein of form, being unbeaten in their last eight league matches. Queens like to play football and have showed plenty of character and will to win, playing right to the final whistle which has paid dividends for them in matches some teams might have switched off. Queens had another great result on Tuesday evening defeating Clyde 3-0 to move into second place in the league. This will give Queens Park great confidence going into today’s top of the table clash. However with seven games to play we are in a good position and will look forward to today’s game knowing our destiny is in our own hands.

We are trying to stay level headed knowing there is still so much hard work to be done, we will continue to take each game as it comes, not looking too far ahead, encourage the players to give you the result which will hopefully continue our good home form, enjoy the game.
