Manager after Clyde game 3rd May, 2008

I would like to start by offering my congratulations to Clyde Football Club, their team showed fantastic spirit, when we scored our third goal that should have been enough, at that stage we had a grip of the game and the second goal Clyde scored was really cheap and gave them a lift and from there I thought they took the game to us and we couldn’t handle it, we were tired but ultimately they were just that bit better than us on the day, which we have to accept. Our goalkeeper had a great game and kept us in it, its difficult, I’m so of the proud of the boys I thought they did great, I have to say I felt and I know that this is going to sound like sour grapes, it’s not really meant to be sour grapes, the momentum of the game was with Clyde anyway and there was things happening in the game that just didn’t go our way. The third and fourth goal I thought were fouls but that is just small things in the game and if the game is played at their end of the park then it’s the sort of thing we would have got. It is not a criticism it is just an observation. Brown Ferguson going off, hindered us enormously because he was having such a good game and Gary McSwegan coming on for them was massive because I thought he was outstanding and got them right back into the game. I have no complaints about my players and I have no complaints with Clyde winning, I just wish them all the best and hope they do well but it is very disappointing to end the season in this manner.  I have nothing I can say to my players that will make them feel better, I have nothing to offer any of you guys that will make me feel better, it was just one of these days – end of season play offs, people can criticise them all they want but we have been involved in two fantastic games and ultimately Clyde were the winners and good luck to them.
