Jim Goodwin after victory over Albion Rovers

Delighted with the result, I thought we played very well in the first half in terms of passing the ball about, we probably didn’t control the game as much as I would have liked in the second half, we were a wee bit sloppy in possession at times but the boys did great - I would have liked the third goal to have come a wee bit sooner, I thought we had a number of opportunities to add to it but the lads have been excellent they defended really well towards the end, delighted to get the three points.

Neil Parry made a brilliant save late in the second half and he had pulled off another in the first half but at 2-1 the opposition are always in the game and Albion Rovers are very dangerous on the counter attack they have good players in the forward areas and we had to be at our best today at times in order to keep them quiet, the goal we concede is disappointing I felt it was a bit sloppy and we could have dealt with it better, however the boys again showed a great reaction, they had dominated the opening ten or twelve minutes and then conceded in Albion Rovers first attack which was very disappointing but a great reaction again, we have great character within the dressing room they are a really good bunch of boys and I am delighted after a disappointing 2-2 draw at home against Queen’s Park we were able to get back to winning ways today.

Another goal for Ross Stewart, he has been brilliant but he could have had a couple more certainly there was one more he was disappointed he didn’t tuck away to make it 3-1 but he is a really good kid and as I have said before, we tried to get him in the summer but Jack Ross fancied him as well and he chose to go there but delighted to get him in now and we can give him the opportunity to play regular first team football which at his age is important - three goals in his first three games is fantastic.
