Jim Goodwin after home draw v. Queen’s Park

A little bit frustrated, again a great reaction from the lads, they go a goal down again and managed to come back. Disappointed with the goal, I have to put my hands up, Ross Millen has ran off the back of me, played a one two, I should have stayed with the runner, I didn’t and we get punished, so I hold my hands up, the boys were excellent defended really well, I don’t think Neil Parry has had too many saves to make all day. We knew Queen’s Park would come and play five at the back and make life difficult for us and they did that, they have decent energy in their team. It was a decent game, a little bit open at times but on the whole we played and created enough chances but just couldn’t get that second one after we equalised.

Although we’re unbeaten again, a point is just not enough at the moment, Livingston keep on winning and we don’t want that gap to get any wider than what it is just now. So we are a little frustrated how things are going, the break of the ball is not going our way but we can’t make excuses we just must keep going. The boys work hard on Tuesday and Thursdays, I’m sure they are working as hard as any other team, it certainly is not through lack of effort, however we do need to be picking up the three points, three draws back to back is not enough.

Every team will go through a dip at some time in the season, Livingston have still to have their dip in form, every team is capable of going on a winning run, we did it at the start of the season and now over the last three or four weeks we have had a dip in form, these things happen, we will just have to stay positive and keep believing, the goals aren’t as free flowing as they were at the start of the season but it is no fault of the players, it is just things aren’t going our way at the moment.

We knew how Queen’s would play and it was no different from when we played at Hampden, they normally go five at the back, their wing backs get high and wide and attack and they try and frustrate teams, and they are very good at it, Gus has them very well organised, they also have some very good players so you need to give them credit, it wasn’t a case they just came and parked the bus, they gave a very good account of themselves.

There are always positives to take from games but it is just annoying we had to go a goal behind before we can get a reaction to start to play as we know we can. We need to start the games the way we are finishing them at the moment.
