    Jack Ross after Airdrie defeat

Jack Ross after defeat by Airdrieonians In terms of the result it was a frustrating afternoon, last week was more frustrating because I didn’t think we had played that well but today I have no complaints, first half I thought we were terrific, second half was a wee bit scrappy, but that is because we made changes to try and win the game, but the players performance and attitude in trying to win the game no complaints from me in that sense. Their goalkeeper Rohan Ferguson is a highly rated keeper but he is not someone I have managed to see a lot of just because of the league, but I was well aware of his reputation and he only enhanced that today because he made countless good saves in the game and he deserves credit for that. I have spoken about it often enough to win games you need your goalkeeper to play well at difficult venues and he has did today.

There was only one team that dominated the whole game and it was played in the same manner until we put Ben Gordon further up field in the closing minutes, because we had knocked on the door but not got another goal.

Jamie Longworth missed a bit of pre season through work commitments then he was unfortunate to break his hand so it has been difficult for him, being part time it is hugely challenging to catch up it terms of game time, he is a good player and I am happy with the contribution he has made so far this season.

Next week will be good as it has been a frustrating couple of weeks in our last two league games for various reasons, the spell we had at the start of the season, today I think we played as well as we have this season but you need breaks and things to fall for you, so next week’s game will be good it probably gives us a little bit of respite from the league and it will be a very different game and there is a novelty about it and everybody is looking forward to the trip.
