    Managers Message v. Raith Rovers

    Saturday, August 16, 2014 2:33:02 AM

Today I would like to extend a warm welcome To Grant Murray & Paul Smith, the players, supporters and directors of Raith Rovers FC as they visit Recreation Park for our opening home fixture of the new season in the eagerly awaited SPFL Championship, which has created such an interest in the community and wider areas this season, there will certainly be no easy games in what will be a hugely challenging season but one the players are all looking forward to.

It’s our first home game of our league campaign, we want to set our stall out, in that we want to get off to a winning start at home. Raith Rovers had a good result last week at home against Dumbarton, but we also know our performance at Dumfries, especially in the first half was excellent and there were plenty of positives, we must keep believing in want we are doing. We were disappointed at taking nothing from the game, we put so much into the game, having controlled the game for large periods it was disappointing to go in at half time losing 2-0, however we need to build on the positives in that we created a lot of chances.

We will give Raith Rovers every respect but will concentrate on what we have to do to make sure we look to win the game, it’s our home game and I want to make it difficult for teams visiting Recreation Park.

We are still looking to add to the squad and if the right player becomes available we are definitely still looking to strengthen the squad, the loan option is still another possibility but we need to make sure it is the right person who comes in and not just another player to make up numbers.

Today will be another test of character for the players and another opportunity for us to go out and show how good we can be, enjoy the game.
